What I'm listening to today:
- The episode of This American Life that was taped live at the Skirball Center at NYU - we were given tickets by the awesome staff of WNYC. They’re great people.
- God Help the Girl - a soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist yet by Belle and Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch.
- The brand new record from Those Darlins, who are playing at the HiTone in Memphis on Saturday night.

Goings on
I’m trying to make things happen, to set my new plan in motion, but it keeps getting stalled out. I’m hoping self-imposed deadlines, discipline and hope will help.
It could be that my house is still full of boxes. It’s tough to decide which work is more important sometimes - the work that ups your skills and brings in cash, or the work that makes your life livable. Doing both...

We just got back from seeing the live broadcast of This American Life. As in, the one that was being broadcasted to movie theatres across the country. It was a last minute gift from some very lovely people (hi, Staff of On The Media- y’all are the coolest people ever!).
other than the part where accidentally abandoned me on the f train, this has been the most awesome vacation ever.
I’m feeling so discouraged. Gah.
Oprah won't kill Twitter. She'll just use it...
Oprah signed up for Twitter and made her first post today (in all caps, natch). She’s devoting her entire show this afternoon to the microblogging service.
Oprah’s tweeting will no doubt inspire a ton of her legions to sign up for for accounts. There’s been a lot of talk today about how that will affect the rest of us that use the service (most obviously, the increase in traffic...

The Case for Obedience School
Right now, my dog is having some spring cleaning in his crate. He’s dragging all of the towels and toys out (along with a bunch of random torn up paper) and building a pile on the other side of the room. He just shook out one of the towels, sending bits of stuff flying everywhere.Nevermind that we just cleaned.
Earlier tonight, I made really delicious-looking catfish tacos. I say delicious...
